Michio Suzuki started his Suzuki Loom Works in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1909. For the next 42 years his firm produced some the best powerloom weaving machines.
It was only after 1951, that the newly renamed Suzuki Motor Works began manufacturing a 2-stroke, 36 cc bike called the PowerFree. Based on its success it created the Suzulight, its first automobile.
Today, Suzuki has plants from China to Pakistan, India to Hungary.
