SAAB or Svenska Aeroplan Aktie Bolag (Swedish Airplane Corp.) that began in the 1930's started to first make aircrafts for the Royal Swedish Air Force.
In 3 years they were producing some of the best planes. After the World War II ended, SAAB shifted to making passenger planes.
But as fortunes were dwindling they management felt the need to keep up with changing times and so moved to making of automobiles.
