The literal meaning of Mazda is wisdom and is from the actual word ‘Ahura Mazda’ which is the highest spirit of worship in the Zoroastrianism religion.
This name was borrowed by Jugiro Matsudo and his group of fellow investors when they took over a company called Toyo Cork Kogyo to manufacture various types of production related tools used in factories.
By 1931 they developed a tri-cycle called Mazda-Go that would start exporting. By 1960 they started making cars and soon expanded to several countries.
