S.S Motors (an offshoot of the Swallow Sidecar Company) was the original name of Jaguar Cars Limited and was formed in 1934.
It was in the late 40s and 50s that Jaguar caught the attention of automobile owners after they produced several sports cars in quick succession.
The company is currently owned by Tata Motors.
