Citroen (pronounced CIT-roh) was founded in 1916 by the industrialist André-Gustave Citroen (1878–1935) to make ammunition for the French military.
From 1919, they started making cars and was the first company outside of USA to mass produce automobiles. The controlling company is the giant PSA Peugeot Citroen Group.
It has a history of developing innovative features for the automotive industry – unitary type bodied vehicle, self-levelling suspension system, disc brakes, swivel headlights and many more.
