Renault's 40 CV stands as one of the most towering giants in automobile history. Launched in 1911 as the Type CG, it went through some various names after various modifications and finally being designated as Type NM in 1928 when a 7.1-litre engine. This car was huge and weighed over 1.75 tons. Soon after World War I, the engine was made more powerful to 9120cc.
The 40CV also participated in several races and was the winner of the 1925 Monte Carlo Rally.
