Aurel Persu, a Romanian who studied in Germany always wanted to build a vehicle that defied the then logic – wheels of an automobile should always be outside the frame of the vehicle.
In his opinion the best aerodynamic shape would be the falling drop of water and so he started working on this. In the year 1922, he applied for a patent for his design in Berlin. By 1924 he had the patent and went on to create his first model car. With wheels that were within the frame itself. He was so engrossed with his own design that he forgot that changes were taking place beyond Germany.
With such high production cost to make his only vehicle, he failed to produce any more. Neither did any automobile firm show any interest in his designs.
