The Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman or the W100 was considered as the world's finest car.
It was in the mid-fifties that the house of Daimler Benz asked their Technical Director Dr. Fritz Nallinger to create a vehicle that is extraordinary and was given 'unlimited' budget. He selected three best from his design team to create the most extraordinary limousine. The styling was done by the greatest automotive Italian designer Bruno Sacco.
This car had a newly built 6.3-litre V8 engine and its windows, door locks, sunroof, brakes, etc. were all hydraulic operated. Most limousines had a partition glass between driver and rear occupants. There was independent heating, air-condition and a refreshment bar. Each were made specially for client and no two cars were the same.
Famous owners include singers John Lennon & Elvis Presley, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis.
