This car was the brainchild of its founder Henry J. Kaiser who wanted to build a car using few components and using bare minimum resources. So trunk lids were done away saving metal stamping costs, 2 doors instead of 4 doors, rear windows that were fixed, glove box and armrests done away with, etc.
This car is a replica of Aut Swenson's (a stuntman from Texas) show in 1953 called Thrillcade that involved smashing of cars. His show was a rage in the mid-west circuit.
