Designed by Patrick Head and Adrian Newey for the 1996 Forula One season, this model was powered by a 3 litre powerful V10 engine from Renault. This car was modified to the new rules set by FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) that meant that the driver should sit lower in the cockpit as it had a better centre of gravity thereby allowing the driver to control the car better.
Both Jacques Villeneuve and Damon Hill drove this new model and between both they won 12 out of the 16 races. It was the same car in which Damon Hill won the Driver’s Championship title.
