The WHITE Motor Co. started the brand Western Star Trucks in 1967 and is today a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America.
The 4800 Series of trucks offered more powerful engine options to the customer who could choose either between a Detroit Diesel 12.8-litre or a Cummins made 15.0-litre engines. The 4864 was one of the variants.
