Essentially, a Dutch-made DAF 66 that first rolled out in 1975, this car model came into the hands of Volvo after Volvo's takeover of DAF's car division.
It was renamed Volvo 66 and shipped to other European countries because the Swedes would not accept a Volvo made elsewhere. Over a lakh (100,000) were produced under the Volvo brand.
