The Volkswagen Type 2 is also known by various names - Transporter, Kombi and Microbus and introduced in 1950. Since it was the second model after the Beetle car (designated Type 1), the Type 2 or T2 became more popular because of the Hippie (flower power) culture in the late fifties and sixties when most of them drove this van to rock concerts as well as going for camping in open air. Until this day any living hippie will swear by this model.
Stormy Six was an Italian progressive and folk rock band that was founded in Milan in 1966. They performed and recorded until 1983. They also sang with the Rolling Stones when they performed for the first time in Italy.
This metal replica in 1:43 scale is the same van that was used by the Stormy Six to take them across Europe for performances.
