Volkswagen wanted to shrug-off her image as a Beetle maker, and so hired Italian automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign to design a car that would pull-up Volkswagen’s image as a more contemporary car maker.
What resulted was this Golf in 1973 that went a long way to establish Volkswagen as a leading automobile player in the area of hatchbacks.
This seventh generation Volkswagen Golf introduced in 2012 is not only roomier but also lengthier than the earlier generation Golf. This model uses the same platform as the Skoda Octavia and the Audi A3.
