Volkswagen wanted to shrug-off her image as a Beetle maker, and so hired Italian automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign to design a car that would pull-up Volkswagen’s image as a more contemporary car maker.
What resulted was this Golf in 1973 that went a long way to establish Volkswagen as a leading automobile player in the area of hatchbacks.
This is a metal scale model of the 1984 Volkswagen Golf.
