VW Type 34 Coupe Scale - 1:43

Following the success of the Ghia designed VW Karmann Ghia model, the management at Volkswagen thought they could replicate the same on a larger body and this is how this variant, Type 34 (Typ 34, in German), evolved. With design inputs from Carrozzeria Ghia’s Sergio Sartorelli and the legendary American designer Tom Tjaarda, this beautiful car was first produced in December, 1961.

With a 1.5-litre engine and top-class features such as an electric sunroof (optional), push-button controls, luxury seats, and even a Bendix-made Sapphire I radio, this coupe car, then, was the most expensive car in the VW range.
