The T1 was the first generation van from the house of Volkswagen and was basically an idea of their Dutch distributor Ben Pon who wanted to make use of their popular Beetle into a van for carrying goods and wares.
The idea impressed the workers of the VW factory as that would ease their way of transporting pallets within the factory. The then CEO of Volkswagen Heinrich Nordoff approved the plans and the first vehicle was named Bulli.
This model is the wood finished model, also known as Woody.
