The T1 was the first generation van from the house of Volkswagen and was basically an idea of their Dutch distributor Ben Pon who wanted to make use of their popular car, the Beetle into a van for carrying goods and wares. This idea impressed the workers of the VW factory as that would ease their way of transporting pallets within the factory. The then CEO of Volkswagen Heinrich Nordoff approved the plans and the first vehicle was named Bulli.
The second version that came out was called the Volkswagen T1 (Type 2). This is the same model that Coca-Cola used as a van.
