
The Passat is a large family car that is still being produced by VW. Volkswagen have been making them since 1973 and has been sold as Dasher (in USA/Canada), Santana (in Europe), Quantum (in Brazil), Magotan (in China), Corsar (in Mexico) and as Carat (in Argentina). Each generation of car is called B1, B2 and so on. Today the models produced are the 8th generation ones.
This scale model which is B1 (Type 32) is the first generation model and was produced during the years 1972 - 1984. Designed by DMC DeLorean fame, Giorgetto Giugiaro, the Passat was given different types of headlamps depending on the specification.
