The LT series of vans was the largest van produced by VW (Volkswagen) having a length of 4.5 metres and a height of almost 7 feet (in one of the variant).
The 911 SC RS model was developed by Porsche only to be raced in Group B and Group 4 categories. With a top speed of 250 km/hr, only 20 were created and they created a record of sorts for Porsche winning races after races.
A plateau in France that is under military control (Canjuers Military Camp) was used as a racing track for few years (between 1976-1985) as it had rough terrain and sharp bends. This rally was called Rallye des 1000 Pistes. This track was so tough that Citroen actually dedicated a new model with the name - Citroen Visa Mille Pistes.
In the 1984 edition of this race, the Porsche 911 SC RS with drivers Henri Toivonen (Finland) and Ian Grindrod (UK) won the race.
This 3-piece set is a replica of the car that won this race, the trailer that carried the vehicle and the VW LT 35 support van.
