
Popularly known as "Heb", the Hebmüller Cabriolet is a development of the Volkswagen Beetle when the VW factory was under the control of the British army (post WW II). The then Colonel responsible for the VW operations asked the coachbuilder Hebmüller and Sohn to build a sportier version of the Beetle.
Few prototypes of this 2+2 seater cabriolet (Type 14A) were built and tested before full production began in 1949. By the time production of this cabrio ended in 1953, nearly 700 were built.
