The VAZ 1111 or Lada Oka (nickname after the river that flows through the city) is a microcar that was produced by AutoVAZ in 1988 to replace the earlier microcar called the S-3D.
Featuring a small 750 cc SOHC 2-cylinder engine, the Lada Oka was developed as the S-3D was not only noisy, but emitted a lot of smoke. Inspiration to build this car came from some of the manufacturers of other smaller cars such as Japanese Kei and other microcar producers.
