Built by Tyrrell Racing, this F1 car designed by Derek Gardner borrowed several elements of a Lotus 72 and fitted the car with a 3.0-litre 90° V8, naturally aspirated and mid-mounted Ford-Cosworth DFV engine.
The first 006 rolled out in 1972, and the first driver who rode this technologically driven car was British racing driver, Jackie Stewart. He did not disappoint Tyrrell. For the next two years, this car went out to set a few records.
At the Circuit de Monaco in the Monaco GP, British racing driver Jackie Stewart, driving this Tyrrell #5, came in the 1st position after doing 78 laps on 3rd June, 1973.
