The Kubelwagen* was the military derivative of East Germany’s people car, the Trabant. They also guarded the Berlin walls for D.D.R (East Germany) before Germany was united.
The military green painted car had a special camouflage cover that could provide her occupants protection from snow or rains. It had communication devices and special heating.
Kübelwagen is actually an abbreviation of Kübelsitz-wagen which means a vehicle with special designed bucket seats that could avoid the occupant from falling out. This, because this military version never came with any attached doors but a long steel chain hooked to both ends.
