The T-55 is probably the most famous battle tank in military history that has seen maximum number of wars.
A derivative of the earlier made T-54 that was first produced in 1946 in the then Soviet Union, the T-55 evolved after the discovery was made that the occupants inside the tank could survive a nuclear charge of only 15kt if the tank is at the epicenter with a 1000 feet range. The new T-55 was an NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical warfare) protected tank.
This tank was procured by India and saw action during the 1965 and 1971 wars against Pakistan.
