The Suzuki RGB500 is a class of 500 cc motorcycle that was developed specifically for Grand Prix (GP) racing. This model won a number of races and one of the winners was Lucchinelli.

Marco Lucchinelli was already an iconic name (he was also called Crazy Horse because of his rock-star image) won the first race Imola 200 in Italy. After another five GP wins with American Randy Mamola in close pursuit he finished that year in style winning the championship for Suzuki.
