Suzuki Alto is a 'kei' car (a small car category class in Japan) built by the Suzuki Motor Corporation. This model (known as Suzuki Fronte in Japan) first rolled out in 1979 but over the years the model became so famous that production of its 8th generation model is still on.
First introduced in 2008 as a concept car during an Autoshow in New Delhi, the Alto got made during the years 2009-2014 with a 998 cc engine. The same car was designated A-star by Maruti Suzuki Co that made and exported them. It was also sold in Europe as Nissan Pixo.
This model was superseded by the Celerio which made its entry in the year 2014.
