A single-seater, twin-jet aircraft, the Sukhoi made Su-25, nicknamed "Grash" was first conceived in the early 1970’s. It took another five years before its maiden flight in 1975. Produced in Tbilisi, Georgia (then a part of the USSR), the Su-25 was sold to several countries.
Another variant that was developed for the export market in 1984, was the Su-25K. The Czech Air Force brought several of these. This scale model is a rendition of one of the planes having the serial number 25508110002 and registration number 1002. This plane was operated by the 32nd Tactical Air Force base located in a town called Pardubice (near Prague).
