With a bullet type nose, wrap-around rear window, and horizontal rear deck design, this Studebaker design was revolutionary in the 50’s. Some say that this design forced General Motors, Chrysler and Ford to look at their designs for the upcoming models.
This model was introduced in the market after a lot of research as Studebaker was already bankrupt and about to enter into receivership.
In the beginning, sales for the Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe were slow but after a V8 engine was put, sale figures started climbing up.
