
TAZ, a government firm, originally produced home appliances before it diversified into the making of automobiles.
Based in Slovakia (then Czechoslovakia), TAZ produced the Škoda designed 1203 and several of its variants such as a van, a mini-bus, an ambulance car, a hearse, a platform car and a pick-up.
In total, the company produced nearly 70,000 units.
