Skoda's main factory is located at a place near the capital city Prague and employs nearly 20,000 employees. This factory has been operating since the beginning of Skoda.
Over 50 years back in 1964, the management of Skoda decided to name the successor of Skoda Octavia with the same name. They called the new model Skoda 1000MB (naming it after the factory location Mladá Boleslav).
With a 998 cc 4-cylinder engine positioned at the rear of the car, the 1000MB was a 4-door saloon car and was a popular hit in both Czechoslovakia as well as few countries in Europe where some of them were exported too.
