The Spanish automobile firm called SEAT (currently owned by the Volkswagen Group) started it's operations way back in the 1940s. It was then known as S.I.A.T and it’s primary objective was to start an auto revolution in Spain.
Then the firm name was changed to SEAT, after FIAT in 1948 gave them the license to produce their models – FIAT 600 (SEAT 600), FIAT 124 (SEAT 124), etc.
