Designed by Rolls-Royce designer JP Blatchley, this model rolled out first in 1955 and for the next eleven years nearly 7500 were produced.
Built mainly by an American firm that operated in Great Britain (Pressed Steel Co.), the Silver Cloud I model succeeded the earlier made Silver Dawn. With a 4-speed automatic transmission from General Motors (Hydramatic), the model rolled out in several variants – 4-door saloon, 2-door convertible, 2-door drophead coupe, etc.
