Produced by the British Motors Corporation (BMC) under the Riley marque, the Riley 4/72 with a 1.6 litre engine was launched in 1961 and was related quite closely to the BMC made Wolseley 16/60 (a Pininfarina designed car). With better suspension and anti-roll bars, this car with twin carburettors did quite well in the British market.
The model was sold as the Riley 1500 in Argentina and as Riley Comet in Austria. A total of over 14,000 cars were produced between 1961-1969.
