This was at a time, when aviation was becoming a reality and cars were being made to be driven faster.
It was in 1934, that Renault launched a car imbibing principles of aerodynamics (streamlining). At the Paris Motor Show, the public got a chance to view this magnificent car in two variants – one having a Viva (6-cylinder) and the other, Nerva (8-cylinder) engine.
By 1935 when the first production model rolled out, Renault rolled out the 6-cylinder engine model in two variants – Vivastella and the sporty VivaSport. After few months, Renault combined both the models and rolled out their new, Renault Viva GrandSport (this plan was successful as the economic crisis didn’t permit people to purchase the more expensive 8-cylinder engine option).
