Debuted at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show in 2009, the Twizy by Renault is a 2-seater electric car designed by Luciano Bove and Françoise Leboinne. With a structure having lateral beams located on either side, the cage provides safety protection in case of an impact. Standard features include a 4-point safety belt for the driver and a 3-point safety belt for the rear occupant.
Manufactured at their facility in Spain, the Twizy has caught the public imagination in Europe of going green since 2012. Accepted legally as a quadricycle, the Twizy can travel on a single charge up to 100 km. By 2017 total sales have exceeded 20,000 vehicles.
