The Estafette was a development by Renault to address the needs of consumers that wanted a van that was in the mid-range between the smaller Juvaquatre and the large sized Goélette (also used as taxis in Senegal) and Galion models (also used as mini-bus in Vietnam).
Launched in 1959, the Estafette became so popular that they continued being made until as late as 1979.
This particular camper model was made by a French firm called Autostar who started their camper van making business in the 1970s. The Estafette was the right choice for their model AutoStar 350.
