Also known as the "Ten Thousand Turns Rally" this endurance race called the Tour de Corse is one of the toughest. In its history, several drivers have got killed participating in the course.
The Renault Alpine (pronounced Al-PEEN) A110 1800S also nicknamed ‘Berlinette’ participated in large numbers in the same rally in 1973. The car # 1 driven by Jean-Pierre Nicolas* and his co-driver Michel Vial finished the race in number one position. It was a dream day for the entire Renault Alpine Team members.
* Jean-Pierre Nicolas was a French professional rally driver who participated in a number of races during the seventies. Some of them include the Rallye du Maroc (1976), Safari Rally (1978), Rallye Bandama Côte d'Ivoire (1978), etc.
