Renault was seeking a good model to counter the competitor’s Citroen 2CV AZV that was doing well commercially. The earlier made Renault Juvaquatre was losing it’s charm among customers. So based on their car model called Renault 4, the F4 was developed as a commercial van with a boxy figure that was not just wide, but also having a higher roof.
Again this van was a commercial success because it was made until 1991, a run for near three decades.
This particular metal van was used by Renault’s Service Division.
