Produced specifically for racing in Gr. 5 out of the Porsche made 911 (930) Turbo, the Porsche 935 K3 had a 3.3 litre twin turbocharged flat-six engine and was designed by “Mr. Le Mans” or Norbert Singer (who designed practically all Porsche racing cars such as 917, 935, 936, 956, 962 C, WSC Spyder and 911 GT1 98 during 1970-1998).
On 9-10th June, 1978, a car sponsored by the Porsche Kremer Racing Team and driven by Americans Don & Bill Whittington along with German Klaus Ludwig won the Le Mans race held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France after completing 307 laps coming in 1st position.
