
A car that is also known as VW-Porsche 914 *, this was a collaborative effort between two automobile brands having the same owners. Produced during the years 1969-1976 more than 1 lakh of this model was produced.
On 1st March 1970 the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) approved this car for racing after certain modifications were made. This new racing variant called the Porsche 914/6 could easily be identified by her squared fender flares.
The 38th edition of the Le Mans rally held on 13-14 June, 1970 a Porsche 914/6 with a Porsche 2/0 litre F6 engine and belonging to the French team of Établissements Sonauto came sixth in the race after doing 285 laps. The car was driven by French national Claude Ballot-Léna and supported by co-driver Guy Chasseuil.
