Pronounced as Nine-Eleven, the Porsche 911 (also called a Carrera) was continuously produced for a period of 25 years since 1963.
Earlier editions came with a smaller 2.0 litre engine and later in 1971 they were produced with a 2.4 litre engine. Coming in three different variants i.e. the basic model was labelled ‘T’, the mid-range model was labelled ‘E’ and the top of the range model was labelled ‘S’.
The Super Carrera (SC) which was the new version of the 911 first rolled out in 1978. With a 3.0 litre aluminium engine and having a 5-speed transmission, a Porsche 911 SC sponsored by the Porsche Alméras Team and driven by Swedes “Walle” Björn Waldegård and Hans Thorszelius took part in the 50th Rally Monte Carlo race in 1982.
