This car was so popular that they got made in six countries across the globe. From Kenya in Africa to Argentina in South America, the Peugeot 404 was made in several variants ranging from saloon, stationwagon and even a pick-up. Since 1960 when the first production model rolled out and until the last in 1991, nearly 2.9 million were produced globally (1.9 million itself in France).
Designed by Italian designer Pininfarina, the Peugeot 404 came with two options – 1.6 litre petrol and a 1.9 litre diesel engine. This car was very popular among the taxi drivers for her ruggedness and ease of repairs.
