It was in 1967, Peterbilt introduced this model called 359 as a replacement for the earlier made 351. With a large front grille to house a larger radiator, this truck model had a powerful Cummins NTC 350 diesel engine that had a powerful 855 cu. in displacement.
The Peterbilt 359 also was the first in their range to have rectangle-shaped headlamps and also have high roof with sleeper. These truck model was produced for the next two decades having been replaced by a new model called 379.
