A well known automobile brand from Spain since 1946, Wifredo Ricart a well known designer and a former employee of Alfa-Romeo created some of the best buses, trucks and even cars during his time. Pegaso collaborated with a large number of firms to produce vehicles. The brand disappeared in 1994 after IVECO, Italy took over the company.
This truck model came up at a time, when competitive brand Barreiros was increasing their market share in the commercial segment. Pegaso collaborated with British Leyland to introduce their Comet model. With a Pegaso made 9020 diesel engine, this truck known as Pegaso Comet 1090 could carry a payload of 13 tons and travel a speed of 100 km/hr.
This truck became one of the most popular Pegaso models.
