A well known automobile brand from Spain since 1946, Wifredo Ricart a well known designer and a former employee of Alfa-Romeo created some of the best buses, trucks and even cars during his time. Pegaso collaborated with a large number of firms to produce vehicles. The brand disappeared in 1994 after IVECO, Italy took over the company.
Pegaso who collaborated with a number of other automakers to produce buses and trucks inside Spain also collaborated with German bus manufacturer Setra to market one of their models. So the S14 bus model which was already popular inside Germany, was exported to Spain and sold by Pegaso with their logo (however the engine inside was Pegaso’s own 9103 diesel engine). For Setra too it was beneficial as they could take advantage of Pegaso through their mother firm ENASA’s strong distribution and service network.
ALSA (Automóviles Luarca, S.A.) is a bus firm that transports passengers across Spain and Europe and used this bus model.
