Standing at a length of mere 4.5 feet (54 inches to be precise), the Peel P50 is the world’s smallest microcar ever produced and continues to hold the Guinness Book of World Records even after 55 years.
Built with a 49 cc DKW German made engine, this car with a 3-speed manual gear could run to a top speed of 55 km/hr.
This model is probably the only car in automobile history without a reverse gear. Instead, a person had to come out of the car or request an outsider to lift the car (a handle was provided at the rear) and place it. This was possible as the car weighed only 56 kg.
Built for nearly 4 years, these cars in 1962 used to cost GBP 200. Over 50 cars were produced. Today these cars carry a lot of value in the auction houses.
A rare resin model with only 300 pieces made. Each model created are individually numbered.
