Just after the World War II ended, France was undergoing reconstruction on a massive scale. Panhard who were already making cars and had truck manufacturing experience took the opportunity to make a smaller truck that would be light and agile yet carry loads. So in 1952 Panhard introduced the Movic with a 7 tons payload capacity that was powered by a 100 hp diesel engine. A petrol variant was also made.
