Just after the World War II ended, France was undergoing reconstruction on a massive scale. Panhard who were already making cars and had heavy-duty truck manufacturing experience took the opportunity to build a smaller truck that would be light and agile yet carry heavier loads.
So in 1952 Panhard introduces the Movic with 7 tons payload capacity that was powered by a 100 hp diesel engine. A petrol variant was also made.
