The Opel Euro Haendler Team was an in-house team from Opel that took care of her participating drivers and rally teams that took part in various rallies across the world.
The person who headed the team and was instrumental in keeping all its participating machines race-fit was Herbert Fabian who had joined Opel in 1963 as a test driver. After passage of time and doing roles that involved diagnosing engines, changing tyres, shock absorbers, etc. he was made responsible as the Chief Mechanic for Opel Racing in 1967.
Fabian's Opel Euro Haendler Team not only became an integral part of every rally but also helped several drivers such as Christian Geistdörfer, Jeanne-Pierre Nicolas, Herbert Heuser, Hans Beck, Jochen Berger and Walter Röhrl to finish races and have podium finishes.
In 1974, they convert an Opel Admiral B car and attach the rear of an Opel Rekord D station wagon model to be used as the team car. This modified car with all diagnostic equipments, gas welding equipment, portable compressor, etc. was used to assist drivers and assist cars that crashed.
This 1:18 scale model car in resin is an exact rendition of the same car.
